A shot of the Danat last night. We took the golf cart cab over from the Dhafra to have dinner there. Their buffet was amazing. I had grilled salmon, roasted turkey, grilled lamb chops (the best thing ever), sushi...just a little bit of everything.

Just got back to my room in Abu Dhabi after spending the week at site and stuff is missing. Remaining calm because Android Device Manager tells me my stuff is still in the hotel but nobody at the front desk can tell me what is going on.

Saw my first sandstorm today and it was pretty cool. The drive back from site was nuts. Especially when E11 ends near Abu Dhabi. They haven't finished rebuilding the interchange so this is what Google thinks you should do.

This is what it actually looks like:

And this is me explaining it:

They basically took Talladega and dropped it in the middle of Abu Dhabi. It is 4-6 lanes wide at any given point and is a traffic circle. The red is the route I took and the green lines are the traffic lights letting you enter the circle. You go from doing 120+ in an 80 to SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES BECAUSE HOLY FRICK THERE IS A LIGHT. Then you and about 150 cars wait for it to turn green and it is like the dropped the flag. If you are lucky you get on and everyone else has reds and you fly around. It is nuts.

They thought I checked out (10 days into a 41 day booking mind you) and packed my stuff. I will give them credit. They took my tablet which was on one side of the room and placed it ZIPPED in it's case which was across the room. The case is generic so it is not like they knew they went together.
