...you know what I found odd today as I watched CNN from the treadmill...
They have this footage of supplies being unloaded from the planes (C-130s) and it's amazing that there's actual corporate logos...like sponsorship...on the sides of these pallets. WTF?! I realize we all want to help...and I applaud the corporations that have sent money and manpower...but who cares what's on the side of the pallets??
Seeing the destruction in Haiti on tv was like reliving 9/11...and I know that sounds a little off...but I clearly remember wanting to run in and help but I wouldn't even know where to start...and the same thing for Haiti rings true.
I actually thought...I can take off work, fawk vacation time...and go there to help do anything... But then, honestly...what could I do? What help would I be at all beside another mouth to feed? Instead...I send my $$$ because that's all I know I really can do.
God Bless those poor souls. We are quite fortunate.

We've been pretty busy at work sending water filters to the distribution centers for Oxfam and the Red Cross, they have all come to life over the past few days since the money has been coming in for them.

Does anyone know if there's a way for people to volunteer their help and services over there? I don't have money to give, but I do have a strong body and willingness to help people in need. There's nothing pressing enough in my life right now that can't be put on hold to help other's survive.

At this stage it is too early to tell the severity of the earthquake in Haiti, but the early signs are not good with communications down across the country," said Jane Cocking, humanitarian director of Oxfam.
