Convertible top patch?
#51
So, after about two week after adding the patch, the loctite adhesive failed (putting the convertible top up and down a handful of times) and the patch started to peel off. ADRS2k, how liberal are you with adding the adhesive to patch? I'll try adding more to see if it holds up.
If it peels off again, I'll try another adhesive.
Cheers,
Alex

I was apprehensive about putting any type of glue on the soft top in fear of ruining it especially since I had no prior experience. I started getting wear on the usual spots above the drivers side latch but was able to catch it before it became a tear. I was searching for a less permanent solution in case my first try didnt go well and I came across some very durable denim patches from hobby lobby for about 2 bucks. They are stick on and reusable. I used the black ones, they come in credit card sized patches. After a couple of months of use and parking in the sun (I was worried they would peel off from the heat) they are holding up perfectly and taking the wear and beating instead of the soft top fabric. This is strictly Preventative maintenenace and i dont believe would be a good idea to patch a top, but I wanted to share what worked for me for practically no money and 2 minutes worth of cutting and sticking! Best part is that you can peel them off whenever u want and it wont damage or stain the soft top.
