Default Arkansas Three Mountains Tour (3MT) II

Planning is well underway for the second Arkansas Three Mountains Tour (3MT). This will basically be a rerun (although not entirely identical) of the September 2008 3MT, a half-day spirited drive between Petit Jean Mountain, Mount Nebo, and Mount Magazine.

Weather permitting, this will begin on Saturday, June 6 at Mather Lodge Restaurant atop of Petit Jean Mountain in Morrilton. Please arrive with a full tank and have your two-way radios charged. jmoore2k and Oheim have reserved for us their private Legacy Dining Room from 10:30 am to noon. A box lunch will be served with your choice of cold ham or turkey sandwiches, chips, whole fruit and canned soda for $9.99 each.

The tour will end at Wiederkehr's Weinkeller Restaurant in Altus where we have a 6pm dinner reservation.

We'd like to get an idea of how many of you plan on attending so we can make reservations for lunch and dinner, so please post your thoughts/interest here!

Unfortunately, this date is not good for me . What is the rain date for this drive, in the event weather does not cooperate?

Please indicate on this thread if you will be attending the TMT II event. I have a deadline of Thursday, 7 May 2015, to cancel the private room reservation at the Mather Lodge (Petit Jean Mountain) if not enough people (25) are going to attend. To cancel after that date will cost me $200. David O. will be lead car and I will be sweep car.
Please indicate which state you are from, if you have a plus one (or more), and what car you will be driving.

Hey! I am interested but I will still be very much in the process of moving and getting settled in Little Rock so I cannot make any guarantees. If I did make it I would be in a Red '06 BMW 330Ci and probably without passenger.

Julie/Jerome - Kev and I were looking at this drive and noticed that the lodge and cabins appear to be all booked for this weekend. Do you guys have recommendation on lodging in this area? We just found out about this tonight so we aren't completely sure if we can make it yet but hope to!

Hondawifey, Did you try lodging in Russellville or Conway, Arkansas? They are the nearest towns of size nearest to Morrilton, Arkansas. If unable to find lodging, you two are welcome to spend Friday and Saturday nights (5-6 June) in my home (no charge). I have a 4,000 sq. ft. three-story air-conditioned house on Asia Point Rd. (C.R. 6850) with two guest bedrooms (one with single bed and other with double bed) with full bathroom on the top floor. My back yard overlooks the Arkansas Grand Canyon. Asia Point Rd. intersects Hwy 7 (from the east side) 7.9 miles south of the Newton County Courthouse in Jasper, AR. Call me at (870) 446-6194 for additional directions to my home should you choose to make the additional one-hour drive north up Hwy 7 from Russellville, Arkansas to Asia Point Road.

I have not even looked into it yet but another option is Clarksville which is less than 25 miles west of Russellville on I-40.
