The S2000 is finally undergoing it's next round of major surgery. This next rebuild will probably be the biggest single transformation in my history with the car. Hopefully I will have lots of interesting updates over the next few months.

So far we've just started stripping the car down to remove anymore un-needed weight. Dash is finally out so all of the heater matrix can be binned;

Front fenders are off, intake and radiator are also gone;

Rear wing has had the clear coat re-done as it was starting to yellow a little;

Half cage is out. We will be cutting out the main diagonal bar that was added in an attempt to get CAMS approval. This bar interferes with the seat and we don't care about CAMS anymore so it'll be cut out and then the bar will go off for powder coating;

Engine is fully disconnected now, ready to be dropped out with the gearbox and subframe;

Lastly, the front right hub has been removed so we can have custom dog bones made up for our new brake setup;

These are the calipers we will be using with a 355mm disc. They are so much lighter than the OEM calipers;

Since this photo was taken all the OEM suspension arms have been removed. Bushes have been pressed out and they've been sent out for powder coating.

The full tank has also been binned, as we'll be making a custom 20l fuel cell. I don't think anyone's seen under here since it left the factory 15 years ago (it's pretty clean);

Hoping for some new wheels to turn up next week. Specs will be custom offsets - 18x10 +43 front and 18x11 +54 rear .

Looking great!!!

If you don't mind, please share the fuel cell setup pics. I am looking at getting one too. I prefer the safety of a full proper fuel cell in a race car.

These things always take a lot longer than I plan them to... however some progress has been made.

The wheels have arrived;

We also pulled the motor and stripped it down;

The condition of the internals were so immaculate it's almost a shame to be pulling it apart. The existing pistons, new rods, bearings, rings and gudgeon pins have all been sent to the US to be WPC treated. Hopefully this will help the motor last a little longer when it all goes back together.

We are trying to figure out which brand of spherical bearings to fit to the suspension arms. Currently thinking about using the whole range from Hardrace. Has anyone had any experience with their bearings?

All the parts are back from being WPC treated, so the re-assembly can begin
