Default 1999 S2K For 12.5K.

Hey guys, new to this forum and would love the expert help from you guys. Well here's the situation. Im from Melbourne but have found a 1999 S2K in Sydney for 12.5k.

HERE ARE THE PROBLEMS.
1. Minor side damage to passenger door.
2. Minor side damage to passenger side skirt.
3. Minor paint chipping from someone reversing and scrapping the bumper.
These damage need to be repaired and resprayed.

4. Custom colour.
5. Replaced boot lid (Different Colour).
6. No Log books.
7. Its done 88,000KMS
8. Re-leathered interior.
Owner claims that Mechanically A1 but I can't check it out.

So what do you guys think ?
How much do you think its going to cost to repair ?
And is it worth getting it back to VIC.

Hope to hear from you guys soon !

Good advice there...
$12.5k is concerning.
Respray seems dodgy. Besides i'm not too fond of custom colours as it's expensive to touch up.
So that'll cost a bit unless you get a full respray.

Seems shady, I'd take previous posts as something to consider

See if someone in Sydney from this forum can have a look at it for you. Chances are the drive train has taken an absolute belting and the final drive is probably giving out. If you can't get anyone in Sydney to help you out, ask him to record the car starting from cold inside & outside of the cockpit, listen for any cracking or popping (if it sounds like popcorn walk away). Get them to drive around in the car for at least 20 minutes and listen for any transmission or diff whine. They'll need to do it with the top up. Ask what type of oil, brand & weight they've used, what filters (PCX 004 are the way to go) and what the other oils they've used are and when they were last changed.

Before any of that, if the car is on Carsales, get a CarFacts report, if it it isn't, and you have a VIN, send it to me and I'll organise a CarFacts report on Monday with you (I work at Carsales in the same department).

For 12.5k he either needs the money real bad or the car hasn't been looked after. If the engine is OK, consider buying it as a project car. Diff & final drive are replaceable if you're keen to take it all apart and rebuild it yourself, just make sure to use the right tools. There's heaps of don't-buy recommendations and what to look for in under the hood.

See youtube e2hVrl92rE8 for the fix, swap with ap2 retainers which you can get through your local honda dealership or from the classifieds section
