Default McGard Seat Locks

hey guys,

so the search function is down at the moment (for me, at least) and this is sort of urgent, so I thought I'd just post a quick new thread.

where can I conveniently get a set of the mcgard seat locks for the S? ve already PM'd kodokan_4 about it, and he's asking 68 incl shipping to Melbourne, but payment must
be made by cheque or money order by mail.

I have absolutely no idea how money orders work on an international level, and I don't have a chequebook either, which makes it difficult.

are there any alternative sources for the seat locks? I need them for a bit more peace of mind!

thanks in advance

kodokan is being unreasonable. International money orders or bank cheques made out in US dollars are extremely safe for him but bloody inconvenient and expensive for non-US customers. He is doing himself out of some orders.

They are just security bolts and should be available from other sources.

Here ya go. These will do for the back bolts of both seats.

awesome, thanks aus, appreciate it!

I take it that these will fit the back bolts and not the front then?

do you know what size bolts the front ones are?

I thought there might not be enough room to manipulate the the tool at the back of the seat. guess it'd be safer though.

thanks

Yeah, but if you do a bit of research yourself (like send McGard an email) they'll probably tell you what bolts Kodakan is buying. All I know is the fonts are 12mm socket M8s.

so i've tried emailing McGard, this is the response I got:

Unfortunately, Peter (Kodokan) is the only person that these locks may be purchased from. He is and has been the sole distributor of this product for several years.

I am sorry that we could not offer you an alternative route.

Thank you,

McGard, LLC

are there any other aussie members here that have bought a set of the McGard locks? if so, how?

Dr, this is obviously an impasse. You need to send an email to McGard and Kodakan tell them that the situation is untenable. That they are losing international sales because the sales process for non-US customers is so difficult and expensive.

If McGard would like to sell these internationally they need to sell them through a channel which accepts credit cards and/or paypal.

A thread on ideas for homemade seat locks:
http://forums.s2kca.com/showthread.php?t=14972

They also mention in the thread that Kodokan commissioned McGard to do a one off run of S2000 seat locks, so if that turns out to be true, no amount of emailing McGard will probably help.
