Hey Yellafella, I'm with Aus on this one ... I heard about 'cheating' but this is just a bit overboard :-)

I remember that ben was on 1.44.40 (at the WRX event)

Yep, you're right - I just verified that one 1:44.46 for Ben on 16 Feb 2002. I've put that one up there .... though, I'm not sure whether he was still on the R-spec rubber then, or on the S02s. Can you (or Ben) confirm? Iggy, do you want any of your ITR times here?

Sandown 1.33.93 - S2000, R spec rubber

Added to the list.

ps. Anyone knows how we can make this thread 'stick' so it's on top? ... I'm guessing that's the best place for it.

Hmmm sorry no offense at all but I think for a stock S2K 2.03.xx looks kinda too slow at EC, i believe it should get below 2min.

Also that at wakefield running only 1.13.xx with r spec rubber that looks quite slow as well, may i know what rubber r they? coz a friend of mine lapping in his DC2 at 1.11.xx or 1.12.xx all his got was toyo RA-01 plus racing pads. With this setup he got way under 2min at EC

I believe that S2K should be able to lap round 2sec faster than a DC2 or maybe 1sec at smaller track

Hi Typeone_AP1,
What is 'possible' and what has actually been managed are two different things. Yes, the car may be capable of xx:xx.xx time, but it needs a driver to extract that. I am of the opinion that a stock S2000 could return 1 mid 1:43 time at Winton .... though, I have not managed that and I have been there a few times.

Look at the Phillip Island time set by Wayne Gardner - I don't think we have a person here who has got closer than 5secs to that time with stock tyres (ie. as WG's car). Hey, we don't have anyone here who has come close with R-spec rubber.

Partially the problem 'we' have is that there are not many of us tracking the S2000. Look at all the names listed in the 'hall of fame' ... there are not many more.

...all his got was toyo RA-01 plus racing pads

RA-1s are a very R-spec rubber ... that is worth good 2-3secs per lap. The R-spec rubber on S2000 is usually RE540s, DJ101 or RA-1.

OK if that's allowed you can put me down for 1:04 in a Formula Ford.

You guys should start your own hall-of-fame ... it could include open wheelers, helicopters and jet fighters :-)

At Eastern Creek about 1:57 should be possible. This is based only on the observation that at other tracks the S2000 does almost identical times to the MGF Trophy cars, and they do 1:57 at Eastern Creek.

I've seen a stock DC2 Integra do 1:12 at Wakefield on Dunlop D01Js but 1:11 sounds a little too quick. The guy who did the 1:12 was a very experienced racing driver. Wakefield Park doesn't really suit the S2000. The gears are all wrong and it's handicapped by its tailiness in a few places. I've gone 2.5 seconds quicker in a MY00 WRX with only RE540s and Whiteline anti-roll bars than I could manage in the stock S2000.

Wow take it easy dude, as i said no offense at all. I'm not saying these guys are crap driver or something also that i didnt say the S2K is shit or something.

I just curious that's all if that's ur reason OK fair enuf. and bout the rubber at the top it only mentioned R-spec, so im assuming they r soemthing like re540 or d01J as these tyres are quite popular for tracker enthusiast.

Btw i'm still talking about the S2K, not formula ford or chopper. Sorry if u feel offended man

Typeone_AP1,
No offence taken at all. You asked a question and I answered it ... if it sounded like I took offence then I'm sorry, but there was no intent.

You are correct. As mentioned previously the R-spec rubber used on the S2000 is mostly RE540s, DJ101 or RA-1.
