and the guy with zero votes won.
I thought the race was pretty entertaining for a venue that usually has boring races.
Nico made a great start and I've gotta believe is on an upswing. Lewis I am sure will bounce back soon, and my only hope is that the fight goes down to the wire over the 21 race season. Good race for Kimi and Ferrari although it would have been interesting to see how the podium would look had Seb still been in the race.
Haas F1 is clearly benefitting from the Ferrari assistance. And I'm sure there will be voices protesting that they are only good because of all the help they have from Ferrari. But that said I'd rather have a new team come in with some assistance and be given a fighting chance, rather than spend a decade at the back of the grid before it folds, or morphs into another team or brings back Pastor Maldonado in order to pay the bills.
The Williams I thought would hold on, and it was disappointing to see them finish down the order. Stoffel Vandoorne is a revelation. Bet he replaces Button or Alonso at the end of the season. I'm hoping he gets a chance to race again in China so they can see more of his racecraft on display. China in two weeks should be fun. I'm hoping the weather will have some sort of influence there.

Maybe it's because I'm old but F1 is becoming so complex it makes my head hurt when it's supposed to be fun.
Lately they've taken qualifying, which sadly had become the best part of the weekend, and screwed it up by making changes without thinking them through.
The best moments in F1 have always been when it comes down to driver vs driver and machine vs machine.
Don't know about you, but I'm hearing way,way too much about tires and tire strategy, My wife and I have been watching F1 for more than 40yrs ( our romance began at WGI!) and were scratching our heads about Q3 strategy. Not a good sign for a sport when fans cant follow the action easily.
If I get the call to take over, the first thing I'd do is fix the Quali mess by giving the teams all the tires they want on Saturday with no effect on the Sunday supply.
Next, I'd change the rules so there is ONE race tire that the teams can develop their cars around. ( I'd keep the inters and wets around).
We'd have more exciting moments and fewer races decided by tire strategy or supply.
