He will forever be remembered for his role in enabling Ford to dominate Le Mans with the GT 40. He stuck it to old man Ferrari on several occasions prior to that and came to symbolize that Ferrari as an operation could be beaten at motorsport. Here is a neat obit of sorts to him.
