I think the most important part is how accurate the RPM match to the ones off the vehicle, and it is dead on.
This is Phil Sohns FD whom also tracks his car.

Depends on if you're '06+ or not. If you have an earlier model, then it only updates at 1hz - not enough to give you the information you need in the time needed. It also depends on what it is that you're specifically logging.

No way in hell would I rely on a bluetooth OBDII setup only for vital dash information.

it has been used, and proven as reliable by people who track. So i dont mind giving it a try.

It's more an issue with using Bluetooth to communicate and send that data to a device that is just running an app. Dealing with powering a general purpose tablet and launching an app every time you start the car? No thanks. As a way to add some sensors and monitor them it is great and relatively inexpensive, but using it as a full dash replacement makes no sense to me when much better more dedicated options from AIM or MoTeC are available that also allow you proper data analysis software and many more features. I mean really you don't need an odometer? Check engine light or anything like that?
By the time you factor in the cost of a tablet you could get something purpose built like the MoTeC C125/C128 display or something. And be able to customize the UI down to the last little detail. You also get dedicated 10hz GPS lap timing capability and many many other things.

It really kind of to each its own, but your opinion is respected. But it is my car, and i will do what i see fit with it. It is because i dont really need those little details like other people would with their cars. The tablet will sit forward of the of the factory cluster, and there will be a cutout in the carbon sheet cover for the check engine light, and things light that.
The app also starts automatically and shuts down when the car is started and turned off. It is alot smarter than it looks, and i will be happy to show more info here once i get the time too.
