Got the front RCA's in yesterday. Rear hubs stripped down, a lick of paint, RCA's in and ordered some new wheel bearings while i was at it.

Also a sneaky peak of the wheels fitted looks even better in person, cant wait till its all back together and set-up.

She's finally on the ground!!

With the new wheel bearings in and new hubs. Time to get the wheels on

I have been playing with the ride height and camber today just so i can move it about the drive and get it on the back of my mates tow truck. As you can see it's sitting very low in the pictures.

BUT I LOVE IT.

Also ordered myself my own wheel arch roller as i think im going to need to roll the arches more.

Suspension arms are all powdercoated. Wax Oyl on the body from the rattle cans. Just a metal/aluminium gloss black paint on small bits like hubs etc.

A bit of an update on this slow ass project

I have been doing some further weight reduction by removing the heating and re-routing the coolant pipes. I may in the future by a lightweight heater box and some ducting if the screen gets too misty. But for now i will just try the cheaper option of some Rainex! The AC box has also gone, all the heating ducting in the dash and the soft top and motors all out!

My 'Custom Cages' Roll Cage has turned up after a good month of waiting! I also purchased a Sparco Circuit II Winged bucket seat and some Tegiwa low position seat rails, which i don't think are going to be any good and the seat sits far too high even on the lowest setting. With a cage and door bars it's going to be a very tight squeeze, i feel sorry for my cage builder I think i am going to sell the adjustable low rails and get him to make me up a custom seat frame where i can just bolt on some fixed side mounts which should give me the option to lower the seats enough! I also need to get a short snap off boss kit as getting in and out of the car is already a pain and thats with no cage or dash in yet! So i will be ordering an NRG short snap off kit and selling my HKB.
I am also picking up a Hardtop and some fixed brackets this weekend for a good price so once i have that i can pretty much give the car to my friend to start welding in the cage.

Fingers crossed not much more is needed before i can have a little fun and maybe a cheeky trackday early next year. The car is nowhere near finished but I am dying to feel how the car drives now!

ASM Front Fenders, Harnesses, Snap Off Boss Kit and Side Mounts for the Seats followed by a wheel alignment and i should be good to go.

A few pictures to moisten you up...

Talking

So my Rollcage has gone to my mates to be welded in. I popped over too see him last night to get the driver seat position sorted as he is making some seat frames up to get the winged Sparco seat to clear the cage as best as possible.

This is it so far... He has had to cut, grind and re-notch pretty much every bar to get a nice fit. Still to fit are the harness bars, door bars and triangulation between the bulkhead and front strut towers (under the bonnet). All i can say is luckily i am only 5ft10" around 90kg because if i was any bigger i would not be able to get in this car what a squeeze! definitely not elegant!

I also had to get a snap off boss kit or i had no chance of getting in. So i went for the NRG short boss and the quick release which i believe is a copy of the Works Bell hubs? Anyway its very good, very smooth. I am impressed!
