Getting ready to head back to pocono on the 13th. Picked up some ferodo dsuno pads, ill be using them for the first time, coming from carbotechs.
Ive also been waiting for my sideview mirror mounts which have finally been completed. Ive always loved the mracing type 4 mirrors, but i wanted to retain the stock location. Well, these aluminum mounts are the answer. These mounts simply bolt up to the stock location on the door and the mirrors attach right to them. Should recieve them shortly.

Hi Justin,
This is an awesome build! I really dig your ASM hub and Type-s horn button and shift knob combo! How much did you pay for the type-s knob?
I noticed that you installed ITR sidemarkers. I wonder how hard is the installation, and if there's any other part needed?
Cheers,
Han

Science of speed sells the shiftknob. Forgot the price. The itr sidemarkers are plug and play. No modifications needed

Well, looking at my past PM's, i have been on a 9 month journey with a fellow s2ki member: nMeOnE
He has taken his own time to produce an awesome piece for the s2. Ive always wanted new mirrors but i could never find the complete package. My top choice was MRacing type 4, they speak for themselves, but i wanted to keep the stock location. That was impossible. A few years later, 2015, a new design was in the works. Similar to apr and craftsquare, yet these new mounts would work with the type 4. Well, its finally here. I do have the clearcoat ring from my stock mirrors but its far from the rockblasted hood and bumper. Now what i did do was pick up some adhesive foam sheeting from a local craft store (michaels). This gave me the backing i desired for the new black anodized mounts that attach directly to the door.
Here is the info on the foam gasket backing in case anyone wants to use it
I made a paper template of the mount and adhered the gasket. Its approx 1/8" think and compresses to form a nice water tight seal so no moisture or rain will seep through
Im very happy with the final product. The fitment is spot on. The mount went on with ease. Just uninstalling and reinstalling the backing nuts was rough due to lack of space in the door. I got my arm stuck up to my elbow when i was going up through the speaker hole. Had to rip some skin off to get my arm out. That really sucked. The angle on the mounts are symmetrical on both sides and the type 4 mirrors have adequate adjustment so i was able to dial in my sideview vision. All together, these new mirrors and mounts are prob 10 lbs lighter than the pair of stock mirrors. My drag coefficient decreased, but i have no power adjustment. All in all, i am very happy with the end result and they are such a pleasure to look at. nMeOnE, thank you so much for getting this modification to our community, such a great bday present too
