k20tech's s2000 log
Hello s2ki,
I recently picked up a bone stock berlina black ap1. This thread will serve as a log of maintenance, modifications, and general good times with the car. I'm hoping this will motivate me to tinker with it and take good care of it. This is my first s2000.
I flew to Iowa and drove it back to Los Angeles. So far I'm enjoying the car. It is my first convertible.
Here are some pictures. Please excuse my poor photography:

Valve Adjustment
I noticed that the engine seemed to have excessive valvetrain/mechanical noise, especially when oil temp came up to operating temp. It didn't seem like the TCT rattle so I decided to perform a valve adjustment. Hopefully as this thread moves along I will get better at documenting each step of the process, but there are guides available on s2ki and other resources.
Special thanks to Rob Robinette for his detailed write up. It's not that hard of a process, luckily the F20C has room in the engine bay to work with. There is a 2 in 1 valve adjustment tool you can use that makes the job easier.
Clearance measurements are in inches. It looks like the exhaust valves on cylinders 2,3, and 4 were out to lunch. After adjustment the engine sounded much quieter and smoother. Initial test rip down the block felt pretty good; the engine remained quiet once oil came up to temperature.
Here are some random pictures of the process:
