SHG_Mike mentioned that he did this in his thread after removing the soft top. Seems like a really simple and clean way to retain the cruise control.

For a car driven regularly I highly suggest going with a leather wheel. I don't drive mine very frequently and always make sure I have clean hands and even then the suede is showing some noticeable wear after only 3000 or so miles. I like the look and feel better but durability just isn't as good.

I already have the wheel picked out and everything on order. I have been planning it for a long long time. Might even get it this week.

the problem with wiring something to the roof switch is that when you press down, the windows also go down. Keep that in mind.

i have gotten use to driving without the cruise and have been so lazy to hook up a new switch.

Not with the defroster sub harness connected up they don't. But yes wiring it up wouldn't exactly be simple.

what? why? Chop wires off of the plug for the roof switch, solder wires from the cruise directly to those. ECU has no idea you are even using the switch. Simple

Ah so it really was as simple as that? No issues with the roof switch triggering anything any differently?

Yes that simple. Its not like the button communicates via wifi. Cut the wires off, the ECU is brain dead to that switch.
