Default SD619 | 04 GPW Build Thread v.2

This is my 04 GPW AP2. I purchased the car used in 2012 and have another build thread out there somewhere, but I wanted to make a new thread to document everything I plan on doing from this year (2016) forward. My ultimate goal is to build a car that I can take out and drive anywhere without being paranoid, while at the same time being fun as hell to drive!!

Here is how it looked when I first picked it up!

And how it currently looks

Current set up listed below:

OEM GPW CR Front Lip + CR Bumper
OEM BB Hardtop w/ RSG 2pc rear brackets
06+ AP2 Seats
NRG Quick Release/Slim Hub w/ Personal Grinta Blue stitch wheel
Swift Spec R springs on OEM AP2 shocks
17x7.5 +25 17x8.5 +31 Advan RG1's (215/45/17 | 255/40/17)
Volk Formula Lug nuts
Goodridge SS Brake lines
Koyo Radiator
Spoon Upper/Lower radiator hoses
Invidia Q300 Catback

About a year ago, I came in possession of a CR Style spoiler made by VIS. I wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to use it and did in fact test fit it a few times. It looked great with the JDP Rear diffuser (which I ended up selling, and now regret )

So it basically took me over a year to decide that my best option was to go with a OEM CR Trunk Lid and OEM CR Wing. I contacted Honda of El Cajon, CA and got the trunk ordered. I was told I received the last NEW/GOOD trunk from Honda in the Nation (other 1 is damaged). I'm really glad I decided to buy the CR Trunk and Wing OEM, could definitely tell the difference and plus I didn't trust myself enough to drill into my stock trunk lid

Good looking GPW. I'd like to get a CR wing on mine, especially since I already have the CR front bumper.

17x9.5 +40 TE37SL in Pressed Double Black!!!

Got off work around 130pm Saturday and rushed straight to the tire shop to get some fresh rubbers, decided on 245/40/17 Hankook V12's
I was torn between RS-3's or V12's but after much thought, I opt'd for V12's. I just couldnt see myself spending 600 on tires that would mostly see normal street driving conditions. Plus the extra tread life on the v12's will be nice!

Back when I purchased my S2000, the previous owner only included 1 key, so I stopped by Honda of El Cajon during my lunch break and got a new key cut and programmed!

Got home from work and went straight to the garage. It was time to throw the TE's on and see if any adjustments needed to be made. I personally think its perfect!
