Anyone here use a DASH CAM? RECOMMENDATIONS???
I've always wanted to buy a DASH CAM for my cars because I'm a daily commuter (120 miles a day / 5 days a week). Anyone here own one and what brand did you get..................
It's pretty crazy when 75% of the people to your left and to your right are on their smartphones while I drive on the freeway!!!!! BOTHERS THE CRAP OUT OF ME.

I use my Go-Pro as a dashcam and it works pretty well. I delete my footage daily if nothing happens. A friend of mine uses the HP f500 and he likes it but its a bit expensive. Goodluck!

I use a Thinkware F750 dual channel dash cam. It works quite well and is cheaper than the BlackVue.

I have the Blackvue DR650GW-1CH on my daily. I have been using it about a year and a half and it is awesome. What I like about it is that it also monitors parking and senses motion and shock. The camera with a 64gig card will store about 3-4 days of data recording 24/7. It also has an iOS app that works really well. Allows you to pull videos directly off the camera to email or text. I want to get a second one for the s2k but I don't drive the s2k enough to need it.

I run a A118C in my S2000 (daily) and a Mobius 2 in my FJ Cruiser. I power both with a DROK 12VDC to 5VDC Converter. I tried the cheap converters and found power to be inconsistent, my dashcams would cycle power and sometimes not even power on. No matter what camera you get, make sure it has a super capacitor and not a LiPo battery. The LiPo battery can't handle the temperature fluctuations of being in a car and will balloon out and fail in a year or two. dashcamtalk is a good website to read up about the various cameras.
If you don't mind spending the money (~$200), I would get a Street Guardian. They have some of the best (if not best) night quality video and also very good support. I was thinking about getting a SG9665GC but decided to get the generic A118C instead and try out a cheaper one as my first dash cam. Both the A118C and Mobius 2 are working fine. If my A118C craps out, I'm going to get the SG9665GC.

I've used one of the Chinese go-pro knockoffs on Amazon that cost $40. It's true 1080p, has a rear screen, auto-powers-on from USB, cycles files every 3 minutes and auto-deletes the oldest file when the card is full. Also came with a buttload of go-pro compatible mounts, attachments, waterproof case and an extra battery. Hard to ask for anything more at that price.
