OEM vented hood
#11
Vented OEM hoods most definitely DO extract heat. There's a great youtube video with yarn tufts on the vented side, center, and non-vented side and even without any kind of louvers installed the holes blow out hot air (even the rear-most hole by the windshield). There's also some fairly cheap ready-fit aluminum louvers available for the holes.
I bought a second stock hood and plan to vent both sides for a track hood. I think I paid $80 for it.

FYI most all carbon goods weight more than our aluminum one. Like sibon and other. I have weighed them and it's like a 8 pound difference. Since the aftermarket stuff is made with wet carbon then reinforced with FRP.

Still interested getting this done. Let me know if you know a shop capable of handling this. Right now looked like I will just be finding some type of machine shop.

Close but not quite, my seibon was lighter than my OEM hood but not by a far stretch at all.
