#s2000 oil pan replacement. The old pan had stripped drain bolt threads. Be careful when changing your oil and not to over tighten the aluminum oil pan.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO ATTEMPT TO WIRE TUCK YOUR ENGINE BAY.

PLEASE DON'T DO IT LIKE THIS!!

OMG WHAT A MESS!!

It takes us more time to repair all this than to leave it STOCK!

Someone did all this work just to have the fuse box and battery all the way in the trunk. The new owner of the car didn't realize all the electrical issues he was buying the car with. No power steering, no signal lights, cel lights galore!

Not understanding how anybody could miss no power steering or CELs. Did the new owner not even test drive the car before buying?

Have no idea, but they seem to think that it wasn't going to be hard to fix.

Working on a cylinder head rebuild today:

The old head had burnt valves on almost all the exhaust side.

This photo show how deep one of the valves sit in comparison to the others. This is important because it means the valve seat underneath the valve is damaged and needs to be replaced.

The owner of the car is not surprised of the current overhaul considering it lasted until 240k miles!! and the engine block is still in good condition to go on to 300k if kept up.

what were the symptoms that caused the owner to identify the cylinder head needed a rebuild?

also, do they mill the cylinder head for the rebuild?

The car had a hard miss fire and the ecu cel showed miss fire. When we rebuild cylinder head we do not mill them down. Just a light resurface of 0.003 inch to clean old gasket material. Once the head was off you can clearly see the valve had sucked up damaging the valve seat. Unfortunately we have seen this to be all too common on the S2k cylinder head. A tell tell sign is constant valve adjustments. Tight to zero valve clearance.
