Best automotive experiences you've had?

Ice racing at the age of 12 in a Porsche 944 in the Unlimited Class. Talk about an exercise in car control!
Tracking my S2000 for the first time was the next best thing. No other car I've tracked (other than actual racecars) comes close to the FUN of the S2000 on the track. It just dances....

1) Bob Bondurant taking me out on his track at his school in Arizona to teach me the line. We did a few laps in a Corvette Z06. Then he hopped out, said "now just follow me", and got in a 6 cylinder CTS. Things went OK until we got to the first corner, where he absolutely left me. I could catch up somewhat on the front straight due to my massive hp advantage, but he would drive away from me in the corners. Taught me what a real driver is. And taught me that I'm not one.
2) Flying from Indy to Dallas with my son to pick up my NSX, and then driving 1,000 miles home with him. Hitting vtec on the on ramps and cruising through the night with the top off, just talking about life, is an experience I'll never forget.

Tell you the truth, I've come from a long line of cars and motorcycle racing (not road racing with any vehicle ever much.. very limited).
But my best automotive experience was a simple one.
The day I picked up the keys to my S and had it all paid for by myself, when I put the top down and drove away on July 14, 2012.
That day, was the best day I ever had in a vehicle, and every time I pull the car out, it's still the same.

Porsche World Road Show, they've since stopped doing it but Porsche had spectacular marketing here.
It was free, showed up at Mid-Ohio, they had an autocross course where you got to drive two panamera's around, your second lap was timed and winner got a prize. I f*cking had the fastest time and got some nice bose headphones. Then we all go on the course with a lead-follow driving a cayman s, cayman gts, 911 cerrera s, and 911 gts.
The most fun I've had, especially without spending any money.

I can't believe I left this one out in my first post. I got to ride along for a session with a PCA national instructor at a HPDE a few years back. This guy runs a porsche/bmw repair shop, and his office is lined with trophies from various wheel to wheel sports car races. He can flat out drive the wheels off of a car.
So I strapped into his Cayman - it was either an S or a GTS, I can't remember which, with a PDK. Only mods were girodisc rotors, track pads, and R-comps. Holy f'n crap. I thought I was strapped in until the first time he hit the brakes. I swear there was 2" between me and the back of the seat. He would practically fling it into each turn, tires scrabbling for traction, then mat the gas, the rear end would hunker down, hook up and we were off like a rocket to the next turn. Lather, rinse, repeat. Probably 6 or 7 laps, and he didn't break a sweat - keeping the car dancing at the limit of adhesion. Talking me through the track and the line the whole while. Pretty amazing stuff!
