you can get one for MSRP. Just won't get one in the initial shipment and will have to call multiple dealers. I passed on an allocation for MSRP from my local dealer.

Basically they are either going to go to Porsche VIPs, or people willing to pay wayyyy over MSRP for one. I am neither of these so that immediately ruled me out

Yessir. Wasnt worth it for me. I'd rather have a GTS or S tbh. I already have a hardcore car in the exige. The next car is gonna be the weekend car that I can actually take the gf in. So looking at The S, GTS, and c7 z51s right now.

I was aiming for exactly that, but after getting completely shut down at the first dealer I went to, I wasn't feeling all that great. I made a conservative offer at the second one and he accepted it with no haggle at all. In retrospect I should have asked for a bigger discount but I didn't want to go home that day without making a deal.
Water under the bridge at this point. I'll be happy in the end anyway

I've spent some decent time in that Cayman S and you picked a good option list for your use, locale, and keeping under 80K.
Sports exhaust is a must; the difference between the two is noticeable inside the car and watching the car drive by. Cayman S with the exhaust sounds pretty bad ass driving by on throttle. The cooled seats is pretty neat and help your car retain value down the road even more. Can't argue with Guards Red and black. Did you get to the see the fog lights at night? You'll have a laugh when you do... The can penetrate like no other fog light I have seen...

also most Porsche dealers are very relationship based. They will bend over back for you once they have you as a customer. They love to keep their existing customers happy. So the next one they'll probably give you a great trade in & a good amount off. My friend is on his 4th Porsche in 5 years & they have always given him amazing trade in prices and good amount off.
