Default Which country makes the best sports cars?

Made a video on this topic, but for those who don't want to watch this sums it up: In my opinion I think Germany makes the best. Reason being they are constantly creating and engineering greats cars. Most of the technology in new cars comes from Germany. Mercedes- Benz to be more exact.

I see most German cars (other than Porsche) as a bunch of "also-ran" entrants into the sports car world. They've always got something pretty good, but never the best at anything.

I would argue that Porsche makes the best overall collection of cars of any manufacturer. They're all pretty good.

They make awesome exotics. I mentioned them but wanted to keep the video short. Also lambo is owned by Vw/Audi and shares parts with the r8.

Yeah, very true. And I agree with the Porsche comment. I always say they're the most refined car brand.

I think Ferrari just does it right in so many ways, as long as one can afford one of their cars. Italians have amazing style in automobiles and scooters and sport bikes. I love 'em all, and I must mention my Italian heritage influence in this opinion

Where is Porsche from? That place. Really the it's only German company that is still making sports cars vs "sporty" luxury cars.

Other than Germany for Porsche, I would actually say Britain these days - Lotus and McLaren, plus Atom, really "get it".

Italy? I can't think of many sports cars, just exotics. Maybe the 4C and Fiata, but no strong showing.

Great Britain without a doubt makes the best sports cars, racing cars, and motor sport technology. It's the center of Formula 1, automobile design, engineering and supporting automotive industries.

Another vote for Germany.

There was a time where the real sports car renaissance (especially affordable)was Japan. Those cars have been replaced by boring slow appliances.

Italy makes top notch super cars but besides the 4C just about nobody can afford them.

I just spent six hours yesterday driving home from Chicago in my new to me 2014 Cayman S. I am smitten. Smile on my face just about the whole way.
