Ford Mustang GT350

Well the new 2018 Mustang looks worse than the current one, so that might strengthen up the GT350 values a bit.

Yeah really not a fan of the 18 front end! I was thinking of trading my 16 GT in for an 18 but don't think I will anymore after seeing it. I'm sure there will be some performance improvements though.

I disagree. 2018 PP now will have magna ride, exhaust outlet switch, and what looks to be a new head unit. Mustang GT be getting some Shelby in it! Oh and it gets direct and port injection both, which I think is the biggest upgrade! Won't have to worry about the carbon buildup of DI.

What do you think they'll be worth in a couple of years? They were near impossible to find at sticker over the summer. Selection was very low.
My friend says he plans to keep his, but in the 20+ cars this guy has owned in the last decade I don't see the Shelby making it past 2018. Anyone looking for a yellow with black roof Shelby, hit me up next summer...

I may go for an 18 and just replace front end or something. Maybe it will grow on me. Hard to say. The performance improvements are huge though! More power, magnaride, dual mode exhaust etc. I'll have to see how much those options raise the price though.

How are the performance improvements huge? Ford hasn't said anything about power gains, other than the overboost function for the 2.3T. Unless you've got insider info I feel like you're jumping the gun.

Magnaride, active exhaust, and a MUCH lower hood to improve outward visibility -very similar to the GT350 ticks off a lot of the GT350's boxes.
I think R's will hold their value quite well due to the exclusivity and demand.

GT350's engine though... and the transmission; wow!!! Would the regular Mustang come anywhere near that quality level? Never mind the brakes...

The front end I think will look better in person with the new proportions since the hood is lower and and the upper grille is more dominant, but yeah the design lines are uglier imo, and the taillights won't look as timeless not that anyone is buying a mustang anyway because it has a timeless design.
I'm so happy that Ford went with the DI with PI, that alone makes me want this engine more than the LT engines from GM. If they didn't downgrade the internals of the coyote motor (forged crank and rods, hyperteutonic, fancy cast, pistons like an STI) then I'd say that motor is a winner and will probably sound great as well. I didn't know they were increasing the redline but thats just about 500 off from the GT350.
The DI addition was in the works since the coyote was designed since it has the space on the head for it already, so it was coming and was probably going to be introduced after the new camaro, so nothign surprising. I was considering picking up a current gen mustang when they announced the new DI with more power and better mpg, because everyone will flock to that leaving me able to pounce on a good deal on, imo, a better long term engine. But they took a page from Toyota and gave it PI too, ugh.
I could do without all the magneride and dual exhaust options, by the time you add it all up you lose some of its dollar to fun ratio, and replacing said shocks won't be cheap. And I read that the performance pack which includes the magneride is going up in price as well.
Anyway, nice update by Ford.
