The WRX is, the STI not so much. Fragile engine in the STI. WRX has a new motor. The EJ is ancient and just isn't as robust as the EVO motors.

I get that , but I want a stock sti. I'm not modding it. Is it not reliable in Stock form ?

It is more reliable with a proper tune that it is in stock form. I completely disagree with "fragile engine" though. My 2008 STI took a beating as well as anything out there.

Nice, I miss my 03 Evo as well. I sold it to pick up my 94 supra. About 4-5 years ago I picked up a 09 STi and a bearing spun within the first week due to oil starvation I think. The dealer wouldn't tell me if it was the oil or not. They ended up replacing the entire motor plus turbo. From experience, the newer STi has always had issues with ring failures. Subaru know its a problem but wont actually fix it going into the new generations.

Nice ride. Owned 2006 Evo 9. Great car for everyday use. I sure do miss my evo. Still have brand new Evo9 floor mats in the garage lol.
