Default Opposed Piston Engine

Kind
of interesting. I wonder what the exhaust note would sound like.

My initial thought from the title was that we already have horizontally opposed pistons in an H-6 motor. But multi piston in a single cylinder is a pretty interesting concept. Did you notice that it's a 2 stroke too... I'm assuming it has oil in the crankcase, rather than burning oil/gas mix? Has to, if it's as clean on emissions as they say.

Sounds great on paper, I feel like that has to be a "but" coming. It doesn't sound like they have a running prototype yet, they still mention tests/simulations in the article.

I can see packaging being a problem in an automotive application, the motor has to be very tall. These motors have been around since ~WW2 and used in trucking, shipping, planes, etc.

That's a great point. Looking at the video, I wonder if it's feasible to build the motor horizontally and lower the height and CoG.
