Thoughts on 4 door American muscle options

How about an Alfa 164 Q in a manual? That is your budget and good examples are climbing in value. A little older than your other choices, but it's a stunning design that hasn't that still looks great today.

FYI the thread starter doesn't require a manual transmission. That was stated by a piggybacker.

I agree with the 300c. the jaguar is nice looking, but it's a jag. The newer 300c's are nice inside, especially, but for the 17-18k I don't know what kind of 300c you can get. $17k ctsesesss are not attractive either. These aren't the awesome looking V spec cars. The G8 may have parts issues. I have a 2008 dodge right now that might need a new ecu, it's been discontinued and that is going to make this part hard to find, should i need it. I would say the G8 is a great choice if it wasn't for that.

My vote goes to a first gen CTS-V. A good condition, lower mileage one can be had for $15-18k if you look hard enough. I drove one once for a brief period and instantly fell in love. The interior was fine (I drove an 05'), but the performance was amazing. I personally love the looks of the first gens, but I understand that is personal preference. They are just edgy enough that a car enthusiast knows they are something special, while the average person thinks they are just another grandpa-mobile. Merging on the highway and chirping the rear tires at 60 mph in a Caddy was a very cool feeling. Handling was good, braking was above average and the transmission was good enough. Overall a very fun car at a great price (415 hp/tq for $15k?).
