He's back

Isn't this old news resurrected with a slight redesign for 2017?

A geoseismic consultant i used to work with had a turbo GTA back in the day. He go offered 9k circa 10 year ago by a random in a car park for it. The thing was falling to pieces inside and hardly any of the electronics worked.
I asked if i could have a go, which he obliged, it was "so so". Fast but that's where the loved stopped for it with me.

It does seem to be.
40 came and went for me some time ago. It is very frustrating - I desperately want to be excited by all the new shiny stuff, but find it increasingly difficult.
Old(er), slightly ratty stuff, I am increasingly drawn towards.

Me too
i find my proper ratty '99 S2K a lot more fun/than an 08 M3.. I have much more affection for the former. No stupid e throttle, simple, well engineered, not ruled by shit code on a shit pc and destined to break.
That old alpine looks nice. I find old 240zs and stuff more interesting now. And kit cars

Understand where you are coming from Jason with the onset of the throttle actuator issue. Agree completely, this is poor and arrogant in the extreme of BMW to say **** em we won't even bother to fix the under-engineered drive by wire. Even so, I think the rest of the package has borne some serious commuting for you to the London railhead in all weathers. The S would - who knows - have given some grief. It goes with mileage and the S isn't a relaxing all-weather 24/7 commute especially on shit roads.
The issue is fixable for less than the S2000 bushes problem and we won't even start on the MY09 engine fails.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate both cars - even though the FREDs bug me too - but in my life now the S would be a sunny days garage queen for sure. I would love that - but need something more like a magic carpet. An X5 or RR Sport would be good but they are too big and won't go in my garage. The V8 engine NA is the deal. If the poxy DBW really pisses me off I can rig a wire
