Default Hi from newbie building a S2k powered Westfield

Hi guys

Been building this for about 2 and a bit years now and thought I'd share some photo of my build as this forum has been a wealth of info during the build

Just got some mapping problems to sort out then get it IVA'd and registered

Hope you like it

This is how it started

As I started my build before the factory offered the mega s2000 I had to start with the chassis meant for a ford zetec

Trial fitting the engine to see if it fits under an old bonnet

Not running a dry sump so this is about where the sump will sit

Had to modify the bellhousing to fit under the upper chassis rail

Engine mounts welded in

Picked up these for a bargain on eBay

New flywheel and clutch fitted

Next up was changing the alternator for one of the smaller denso ones

keeping with the engine weight loss I decided to dump the stock water pump in favour of an electric one

so made up a plate and used a stat housing from a mini to plumb it in

I've had to junk the stock oil filter and cooler due to them fouling the lower steering column so this was a good excuse to fit a bigger front mount with a remote filter

I've gone with an AEM EMS-4 as the ecu as not much left of the S2000 wiring to go for the plug and play

how it all looks from underneath

race tech dash 2 all fitted and wired in

we have lights :-)

got most of the bodywork fitted

exhaust time :-)

and this is about where I'm upto to date

cheers for looking

Is that the standard Westfield exhaust manifold ?

Looks good by the way.

I've already done the conversion on a custom 7 type chassis (inboard shocks etc). I ended up using Omex 710 ecu.

Good work, you must have a reasonable workshop there

Well done mate, very high quality engineering gone on there, my only concern would be the sump hanging right out the bottom of the chassis, I had a westfield SEi with a zetec engine in it and even that was quite low, and that was factory std design. Good luck mate

no the manifold was made from scratch . we have a guy that does all our exhaust's so we worked out the pipe lengths and he glued it all together
