I would definitely kill myself in that lol.
Looks sooo much fun, why an f20c? Apart from high power and light?
An Zetec from a focus st170 with itb's etc could yield almost as much but cheaper and maybe as reliable- this is just an example.

The F20 is pretty light, and pretty short (BIG consideration given the amount of whacks on the floor the rear overhang gets). A Zetec on throttle bodies wouldn't give enough power, there's no way in hell we could compete with less than what we have, the top cars are 4wd and 400-600+ bhp....
Also, with the max rpm's being similar to the rotary motor, means the gearing should still be about right (just had some gears custom made for the 'box, don't want to have to scrap 'em!)

When you look at the photos ( and some of the other videos) it makes you wonder why anyone would bother racing on a tarmac track! I think you should probably post up a 'readers garage' set ....

32k miles 06 engine (non dbw) but probably without intake manifold.
Depends what it's worth and what price I can get on the 2.3 I'm looking at...

Okay, let me know if you decide to, I'd rather have one that's had a bit of TLC rather than ebay, and all the ones on yeebay tend to be with gearboxes, etc.
I'm not spending vital beer money on a gearbox to sit on the shelf

Go racing on a track, you might spend an hour checking everything over after a day's racing/trackdays.
Go racing in mud, gravel, sand and rocks, and you'll spend 2 hours just getting it clean enough to see what's worn out from all the grit........I'd say we spend 3-4 hours of work on the car for every hour of racing.
It is great fun though, and the series is full of weird and wonderful machines, from bog-standard freelanders with a roll cage, through various amalgamations of Landy bits right up to spaceframed beasties with paddle shift, carbon panels, 4wd and everything from V6's to V10's.
...but there's days when I get home and wish I'd gone tarmac racing
