Definatley a good idea with 18 month old car, depends on the length of warranty - the service plans are a meh from my point of view - the first ones are peanuts and should just need the basics.

This is the key to your proposition. PCP enables people to get into cars with very little deposit.

^^^^ That's a very good post, Har-vey.

If it's a cheap runaround, you're unlikely to be overstretched in circumstances change, but for heavy metal, it could be a problem.

Also why GAP insurance is a good idea.

nomadic's right, it allows people to get into a new car with low deposit.
I took out a PCP recently for a couple of reasons - I needed a sub 4 yr old car to qualify for a company policy. Sold my Saab, used the money for the deposit and the company car allowance pays the monthly payment. In 3 years, of a four year PCP I opt out and use what's left to get into a used RS6*

*please, please, please, pretty please, fingers crossed, etc, etc, etc.

Just my 2 cents, personally I'd get a Fiesta ST over the little Fiat. Yes, they are common as dog crap but there are some cracking deals going at the moment. Plus, they are huge fun to drive and have great performance and good running costs. Only issue is the abysmal Sony stereo thing and driving positing/pedal spacing. Apart from that, it's a sublime bit of kit.
