I accidently found mine the other day (Not that I've gone looking for it in the past!), and mine was definitely the original.. all 14 years and 135k of it...

I literally had 1/2 a pigeon in it! Hoovered and bashed it out for now but will definitely order a new one. Yuck!

Is replacement really necessary when you drive a convertible?

That being said.........it's been enough years I probably need to replace mine too. Not done it in probably 8-10 years!

Never replaced mine...I bet it's nasty! I also assume it restricts airflow and makes the motor work harder to blow air if running heat or A/C. I should probably change mine now that I have a hardtop.

Changed mine yesterday, and from the paperwork I got with the car it was done bout a year ago.... Mine was fairly nasty... Glad I changed it.

My HVAC had a distinct sour smell to it when I bought the car due to this dirty-ass filter. So yeah, I'd say replacement will definitely help keep the driving experience enjoyable.

Time to bring back this dandy thread. So I removed my filter and there was some sort of bug egg or chrysalis in the middle. Seems to be alive. I'm trying to get a picture uploaded now.
