Its a long shot perhaps but worth asking if anyone happens to know what this track is called that plays briefly in both films, in Heat it features right before Hanna shoots Neil (as their both stalking each other around the storage units) in Public Enemies it plays right at the start when John Dillinger places the pistol down his trousers before breaking out, the track is the same version in both films, to use such a track from 1995 and re-use it fourteen years later in 2009 seems strange for it not to be known....anybody in the know? thanks.

I seem to remember Heat using quite a bit of Moby in their soundtrack. I'm trying to figure the scene you're talking about so I can check.

if you use youtube and type 'hand in hand' this is the track that Mann rejected in place of Mobys 'God moving over the face of the waters' which starts right after Neil has actually been shot, the track I'm on about is immediately before it, you hear it right at the start of the clip here....(chords)

Even IMBD couldn't find out the name...track #52 at 2hrs 42mins....

Its thrown me too!!!
The other track missing from the CD is 'The last lagoon' by William Orbit, plays when Neil is chasing after Eady on the hillside when she makes off after realising he robbed the bank.....perfect tune for the moment
