If You Need A Battery
Waited too long, no Gold's left except a 51R, so I picked up the Silver for 34.95 (50% off) and that price includes the core charge. They had many 51's left last week, so I thought no hurry (and was getting greedy...looking for 60%+ off), but they're going fast now.
So if you need a battery and not going deep cycle, hard to beat 50% off on a Diehard. Two left as of tonight. The caps are flush with the battery, so your tie downs will work fine. I was ready to plop down the $$$ for a Yellow Top (they don't make a 51 in Red), but then read the recent threads that Optima stopped making the 51 Yellow, presumably because of all the cell's going dead from the heat.
Took the OEM back 1/2/06 and they gave me the full core charge of $7 back....so cost of new battery 27.95....two left as of this a.m. if you're in the area and need a new one.

The Diehard Silver has 495 CCA's, which is about 20% more than the OEM. Not really recommending this battery over others, it's just plain cheap if you're on the fence like I was on which battery to buy.
