So dug up my mountain bike and rode 1.2 miles down to the mail box, rode the hardly working 17 year old and squealing brakes most of the way.

I tried to ride back, walked most of the way and had to stop a few times. need to take a nap.

Its about 600 feet of elevation, i will take the ski lift next time

That is a rough walk pushing a bike back up. It would be easier to walk both ways initially.
