So I need advice from the HAW collective. Christina got me an awesome/horrible gift for Christmas. 
A Fanatac racing wheel for my xbone, the only problem is she only got me the wheel and the xbone hub, I would still need to buy the base to use it... which is $600... which is crazy expensive...
I have two options:
1) I can return it, but they have a %15 restocking fee plus return shipping be a net loss of $80-$100 so I would get like $300 back and waste $100
2) I can bite the bullet and spent $600 that I really didn't want to spend on the base and enjoy an awesome wheel.
First world problems for sure, but I really can not decide what to do... I expect there will be a lower cost wheel version coming out soon and I really like using the wheel with games, but I don't know that I like it $1k much.

That's definitely a tough call.. $1k for a wheel is a lot of money. I think you're missing #3. Esplain how the parts don't work w/o the base and how she needs to buy you the base as well. 
On a more serious note.. I guess it just depends on how much you really like it and will use it, so it's completely a personal decision. I have a G27 and finally used it for 30 mins this past weekend after it's been sitting for 6+ months. For me I'd say return it and set an alert for fanatec on craigslist and be patient..?

You better play a lot of driving games/simulators.

I have been doing the flight sim stuff lately anyways, I just got some rudder pedals
