Hill Country Drive Weekend 11/3 - 11/5
I've been asked by Clovis to coordinate our Hill Country - Fall Colors Drive this year. Many expressed an interest in departing Friday this year to fully enjoy the Koyote Ranch and the area roads on Saturday.
This year's proposal includes a 11/3 Friday departure in the morning. The group will arrive in Austin for lunch at Rudy's and continue more or less directly to the ranch on some scenic roads.
Friday afternoon and evening dinner will be relaxed at the Koyote Ranch.
Saturday morning we'll head out after breakfast to the Loop, Lost Maples, lunch and "Stonehenge" with multiple routes and some self guided tours with directions.
Saturday evening we'll have our traditional cookout and movie night.
Sunday morning we'll have breakfast and take a leisurely return home with a scheduled stop for lunch along the way.
Your input is greatly appreciated. Please post your departure preference in our departure poll.
I will also be placing a call for volunteers to assist once we get a few of these details pinned down.
Looking forward to another great trip!
Stefan

Voted for Friday morning. We would like to join, as it looks like a great drive and it would be good to relax Friday afternoon/evening and enjoy the ranch. Saturday am would work too if need be.

It looks like we will have a couple options to choose from.
Those desiring to leave early Friday can depart DFW and meet me in Austin. We'll form a caravan at Rudy's BBQ and head for the Koyote Ranch to relax.
Anyone departing after lunch Friday should consider an overnight stay in Austin. The deer and twisties are dangerous after dark. Sondra may plan a GTG that evening in Austin.
Those departing Saturday can meet Sondra in Austin and head for the ranch to join the rest of the group. A fair number of folks from Austin, Houston and San Antonio should be traveling to the event on Saturday morning.
Please continue to post your departure prefs and call Koyote Ranch to reserve a cabin for one or both nights (see Sondra's related thread for further info).

Registered for a Friday arrival at Koyote Ranch. We are looking forward to it. BTW does anyone remember the bat cave we stopped at last year?Seems like that would be pretty cool to see if it is the right time of year/day. Will we be stopping by there again? Hopefully at bat arrival or departure time.

The deer doesn't sound too pleasant. I guess I'll have to suck it up and leave Friday AM. See you same bat time, same bat channel!
