Miata + S2000 = M2000?
This is what the car looked like about 17 years ago
After 17 years and 88k miles of service I found a gem that looked similar to the one above but sans a front bumper. Thus, the build began.
Four days of stripping later we have this:
Notice a blue tarp? That is covering two Momo T-Frame race seats that I installed. They were almost a direct bolt on only calling for minor seat rail modifications (the sliders still function). They look like this:

After talking to numerous roll cage builders/shops, I had the opportunity to see some of BSI Racing's work at a track day at Homestead. A few conversations with the owner (Stu) later, we were ready to take the car up to Ormond Beach, FL for a hardtop and roll cage.
Here it is all loaded up on the trailer (thanks Josh!):
Some gratuitous photos of our new tow vehicle, the 395hp Chevy Trailblazer SS:
After 5 hours of driving, we finally arrive at BSI Racing:
I have to say that this place is definetely Miata heaven. There are over 15 spec miatas in here including his race rental cars, AND 7 new MX-5 cup miatas. This shop has 9 FULL TIME employees (more than any performance shop I'd ever seen).
After spending a few hours going over the details, we roll her in to her home for the next few weeks:

As of yesterday, the cage was about half way done. Next week the hardtop gets fitted and the G-Force 6 point cam lock race harnesses get mounted.
I'd like to thank my dad, Samuel Adams, Jose (MisFitRSX), Amberbock, and Josh (CoralDoc) for all of their help so far.

Honazda!
Are you going to keep the red color, or go with some kind of cool race paint scheme.
Also I assumed you guys pushed it on the trailer? How did that go?
