So I was in Downtown Miami today when I saw the Honda Fit!
I saw them pull over ahead of me, I pull over and stop. I asked the guy that got out of the car if this is the Honda Fit and if I could take a few pictures. He replied yes to both and told me that they are filming a commercial. Then a few minutes later the film crew arrives, some Americans and Japanese guys. One of them sees my S2000 and runs over, points at it and shouts "Amuse! Amuse!" When I asked them when the Fit coming to the US, they replied that no its not coming because its too small and smirked. Impressions of the Fit... - looks awesome in person, the pictures does not do it justice - small car, maybe slightly larger than the Mini Cooper but like the Cooper, its big on the inside - great fit and finish, classic Honda quality - for a $12K car, it does not cheaply built, at least it does not appear that way - LED tail lights! - with the Mugen body kit and some 16" wheels you too can be a balla Photos... -------------------- 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe E86

Good work! Steering wheel is on the right side, it seems. Wish you could have gotten some interior shots. It certainly looks better than the Xa and Aveo.

I too have seen some Fits crusing around Torrance (near Honda HQ) for the past couple of years. I'm not sure if we are getting the current one though, I thought we're getting the next gen version for '06.
Nice pics and thanks for sharing. --------------------

I would think it came buy boat. You really think that Honda has an issue with paying the freight charges to get the car over here? -------------------- 2005 G35 Coupe 6MT 2002 S2000 #0044 (sold) 2003 WRX (totalled) 1968 Chevelle (restored and sold) Ace Stainless Supply 3633 W. And everyone else in Miami who didn't know what a Fit was thought that it was a 4 door Civic Hatchback with new headlights.

She never got out of the car.
It was really exciting to see the Fit in person and especially talking to a guy from Honda Japan, although I had no idea what he said most of the time. |

Mav, representing the U.S.! You make us very proud! The fit is definitely a good looking small car. It is small but, it look nice inside and out. It does not look cheap. From the side, I can see adding new wheels and mugen body kit is gonna further improve the looks of it. Nice pictures! -------------------- Getting Zaino stuff soon, so watch out everyone. It probably cost enough that they'll crush the car instead of sending it back. I remember, prior to the Pontiac GTO coming over, that GM brought a bunch of Holden HSV coupes and sedans over from Australia. They were all crushed after evaluation. -------------------- Pitcher Tug McGraw on money: "Ninety percent I'll spend on good times, women and Irish whisky. Is it an optical illusion (or just the angle of view) or are the rear wheels SMALLER than the front wheels?

THe wheels are the same size front and back, it's an optical illusion. I live in the UK and own this car where it is branded Honda Jazz. The car is the 2005 version you can tell this because it has indicator strips on its wing mirrors, te 2002 version don't have these. The model shown is an SE model (that's the European model code) in the UK this ships with the L13A i-DSI engine which is sold as a 1.4 , the S ships with a 1.2 and has plain black wing mirrors I doubt you guys will ever see this version. The SE Sport is the same as the SE (colour coded wing mirrors) but it comes with the honda OEM spoiler, front sports grille, side skirts and two extra air bags. THey are top little cars, the 1.4 SE 2002 (old version) (really its a 1.3 but its size belittles its performance) does 57 miles to the UK gallon (a uk gallon is bigger than a us gallon) at 68 mph (thats motorway speed). Its sufficiently speedy to out accelerate bigger cars at the lights and has great build quality its really sturdy and doesn't suffer from the doors not going "thwunk" etc when you close them. There are some great body kits available for the car which improve its external asthetics, indside its a choice of vinyl or leather. THe vinyl looks relaly nice, wears well and is easy to clean but the real inner beauty of the jazz is the internal space. My friends affectionately call my car the TARDIS (reference to Dr. Who who travelled through time and space in a police phone box it was way bigger inside than out), the seats are magic, they fold down and up in lots of combinations to provide you with enough room for anything. I can quite happily move flat using this car! Tall items like plants can be accomodated by pulling the bottom of the back seat to up to attatch to the back of the back seat (imaging no bit to sit on in the back of the car). It will be interesting to see if Honda ship the DSI or the equivalent V-TEC enging in the US version, you guys son't pay anywhere nears as much for petrol (gas) as we do it, 1 litre costs us $1.60c so the DSI with its frugal nature won't have the same appeal it does in Europe (its cheap to run goes a long way and still manages to beat other cars in the same class on performance). Sorry for the long ramble, its just I love this car so much its great and its fun to drive. Sure its not an S200 or the accrod diesel but for a small car its pretty hard to beat. In the UK the Honda Jazz has come in the top 3 cars in terms of customer satisfaction since it was introduced. IN 2003 and 2004 it came top, in 2005 it was moved into second place by the S2000 |
