I would like to take the time to focus on one of my personal favorite companies in this industry, Powerhouse Amuse.
Powerhouse Amuse is one of the most innovative, most well renowned companies in not only JDM tuning, but the aftermarket scene in general. The S2000 was the bread and butter for Amuse for sometime as it dominated the Touge and made its way into the hearts of many different types of track enthusiasts. Through their "Touge Monster", Amuse was able to represent their ability to fuse track performance with daily driving and sacrifice nothing. Eventually Powerhouse Amuse decided to create an S2000 with a more, "JGTC Inspired" image and then the S2300 GT1 was born. Tanabe-San was the mastermind behind Powerhouse Amuse all the way up until mid last year. During his reign as one of the leading S2000 tuners, Tanabe-San invested in everything possible for the S2000 from aero pieces, to exhausts, to suspension, to brakes. The passing of Tanabe-San left a void in the industry that we experienced here at Bulletproof Automotive both professionally and personally; Tanabe-San's relationship with our company was one that we hold dear. Amuse is currently in the hands of Miss Tanabe-San who has the love and support of the entire Amuse team. Even though Amuse has focused on the S2000 for many years, that still didn't hinder them from offering applications for many other makes and models, such as the R35 GT-R and the E92 M3. Fortunately, Amuse is still on the cutting edge, pumping out parts and conceiving of concepts that others treasure and envy. In the end, a wonderful company in my opinion who's high quality products represent their willingness to be one of the best, regardless of what struggles they have to face in order to do so. Here are a few pictures from our different trips with Amuse. We have quite a few so if anyone would like to see more please ask. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -Hunter This post has been edited by BulletProofAuto on Jul 31 2009, 09:09 AM -------------------- BulletproofAutomotive.com (213) 745-6954 We price match everything... even group buys... so there is no need to spend more! -PM me about our current specials -Lots of JDM parts in stock! Thanks for the support Andrew
My apologies for any inconvenience, watermarks can make a picture more difficult to view i know; we automatically watermark all the pictures that we take before we save them in our server. I am willing to post more pictures and hopefully the watermark won't interfere with these new pics

What is your opinion on the AMUSE trunk compared to the ASM? Quality, fitment, styling design, etc..

I cannot deny that ASM has some of the highest quality aero parts available for the S2000. I also say the same about Amuse. In terms of design, I prefer Amuse. As you can see, Amuse removed the rear center brake light and integrated somewhat of a duckbill design spoiler in its place. As far as fitment goes, from what I have experienced, both are top notch and fit just as well if not better than OEM. For quality in terms of functionality, both are actually around the same weight; as I mentioned earlier Amuse actually has an integrated duckbill spoiler design on their trunk which does create a little bit more down force. ASM has a similar duckbill spoiler option for their trunk but it is sold separately. Overall both are great companies, I have great respect and love for ASM and their capabilities for the S2000. In my eyes, what makes Amuse such a unique company is their sense of versatility when it comes to tuning cars. Their S2000 Touge Monster was unmatched and unchallenged for quite some time; also, most tuning companies that work on the R35, such as Mines and Zele, cannot beat the record that Amuse set with their R35 almost a year ago. After learning more about Amuse and their history, I believe that Amuse truly has an understanding on how to maximize the overall operations and mechanics of almost any car. One quick side note - When I first started working with Bulletproof I saw your car on display at the lobby while I was making some runs for the office; great job on the S2000. -Hunter This post has been edited by BulletProofAuto on Mar 4 2009, 02:02 PM |

If you've talked to Hunter, in my opinion you've spoken w/ one of the best. Had it not been for his vast knowledge of Amuse products and his willingness to answer as many questions as I could throw his way (and I asked alot!), I would not have made the purchases I made. I'm currently awaiting (and anticipating) the arrival of March 26th and 27th when I'm having a Amuse R1 Extra exhaust, high flow cat, and R1 header installed. Having only "heard" of Powerhouse Amuse before and being new to the S2000 community, I needed all the help and advice I could get. After doing much research myself pertaining to Amuse, ASM, and Tracy Sports (all of which are amazing companies as well), I made the decision to go all Amuse. Now, the pitifull thing is that I'm giddy as a school girl and can't concentrate on anything not pertaining to my damn install!!!! You can +1 for me on Amuse products as well. I have the R1 header and R1 Titan exhaust on my S2. Even got a ticket for having a loud exhaust in Virginia a couple years ago...but its worth it.

I am a little embarrassed to say but I am unfamiliar with the terms IOP or NIOP. What I can say is that your friends GT1 S2000, I believe we helped him build that car. Here is a link to Ben Schaffer's blog about his car: http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog/2008/0...muse-gt1-s2000/ -Hunter |

I actually met Mrs Tanabe-San when I went and had the pleasure and oppurtunity to visit the Amuse shop in Chiba. She was also very nice and courtious to me and my family. When my friend told her we were from the U.S. and came all the way here to see the shop, she gave me a free Amuse sticker. haha.
I wish it was something else but that was the cheapest thing they had there May the best of luck be with her and her family and may Mr Tanabe-San Rest In Peace. --------------------

Yeah, Bobby ordered most of his parts through BP, including the widebody kit and the Volks. IOP = Imola Orange Pearl NIOP = New Imola Orange Pearl I know the US NSX came in IOP. I believe the car you posted is NIOP. Here's a good comparison pic I found of the 2 different Imolas (IOP on the NSX, NIOP on the S). |
