After reading posts and reported threads, I just want to clear the air about NY Metro sponsors. S2KI sponsors and local sponsors are way different. S2KI sponsors advertise on the entire site and pay $300/month to do so, or something close to that figure. According to Admin, local sponsors fees/rights are up to the local CO's. Phill and I have been discussing this recently and have come up with a few requirements. We DO NOT want to collect money and have to distribute it to pay for certain NY Metro meets. Not worth the headache involved. So instead we have decided that as long as the business hooks up metro with good prices, they are free to have 1 thread open and be put in the shopping guide.

In the past all of the people that have done work in Metro have been s2k owners and members of the community, such as billman, markus, jeff and joe. They were never questioned due to the fact that they were just doing it on the side and helping out metro. Now that we have more exposure, we are getting legit businesses that want to work with us, which is totally fine. We are working on having some ad banners in metro for a few of these businesses.

This is all new, so give me and Phill some time to fine tune this process. This will only help metro in the end.

So the only rules are:

1) You have to be a paid member.
2) You have to hook up NY Metro with discounted prices.
3) You can only have 1 advertising thread open at a time.
4) Sponsors will be actual businesses. Members who do side work will not be sponsors and can continue to have their own individual threads. This is going to be the deciding factor whether you are a sponsor or not.

Some suggestions are:

1) Come out to meets and get to know your potential customers.
2) Host something at your place. (bbq, raffle, group discount, etc.)

So as long as you are giving something to NY Metro, you are ok.
