C&D comparo M3 beats the GTR and 911 turbo
slowest but most fun-to-drive, cheapest and most practical.

hmmm. I guess it depends on what you consider to be "fun". If you like RWD, you'll surely like the M3 better, ditto for ultra high revving.
If you just like going faster than god, then the other two might work better for you.
Definitely like the price on the M3 better for sure though...

Since when in hell does CandD go for slowest and most practical?
Leave it to CandD to find a way to make a BMW win a comparo.

M3 is a solid value but I'd to see how many would pick it over a GTR for the same price, which I realize isn't an option.

It seems there is alot of variation in output of the pre-production US spec GT-R's Nissan is letting the press kick around.
The may GT-R posted a 124mph trap.
This most recent GT-R posted a 115 mph trap, though C&D says they've since tested a third GT-R that posted a time that matches the first GT-R
Road and Track got a 116mph trap, as did Edmunds for their US spec cars.
MT got a 120mph trap out of their car.
And it seems that in terms of lateral grip, the dunlop tired cars are achieving about .99 to 1.01 G's (May C&D and R&T test), while the REO70 tired cars are achieving closer to .96 G's (recent Edmunds, C&D, and MT)

Car and Driver picked the RX-8 over the G35 and Mustang a while back -- another example of the lightest, most fun car winning over its faster, more powerful competition. And while I haven't driven any of the three cars in question in this review, I agree with the philosophy. Light is fun.
What's depressing is that in this group, the 3700 lb. M3 is the light one.
Edit: Whoops, it looks like the 911's lighter. They're still all really porky, though.
