F20C1 vs. F20C2

Ever wondered what the difference is? The US gets the C2, Aus gets the C1.
Well one difference is OBD II. The C1 doesn't have it!
I recently bought an OBD II cable and software so I could run some diagnostics on my car. I have since been searching for the connector and for the life of me can't find it. So I checked the CD Manual and noticed that when you go to Engine Electrical and choose C2 there is a digram for connecting the scan tool. When you go to C1 there isn't!
The reason I decided to look into this today is that yesterday I was having a Mercedes serviced and the tech just plugged in the ODB II tool an ran a diag. So I thought it was time to check it out on my car. I've had have the dash in pieces before I checked the manual.

I don't know. OBD II is really just for running diagnostics and taking readings from sensors. You can't actually change anything with it.
I guess it does mean or cars don't keep the black box style records like OBD II cars would or could.

Hmmm, looks like F20C2 is Europe. They're also LHD (like the US) but perhaps there is not a direct corelation between drive side and ODB II and engine number.
Ravor, if you have a digital camera would you please take a picture of the ODB II connector. It should be under the dash near the center console. Not sure but I expect on the passenger side.

On a UK RHD F20C2 engined car, the OBD-II connector is on the passener side. It's tucked just under the dash panel, next to the transmission tunnel. Hard to see without sticking your head in the footwell.
