As the title says. I'm trying to find out how to remove the front axles so that i can have the dealership press fit my new longer studs (for the lug nuts) into the axle. Any special tools required or does anyone have a diagram?

havent had to do it on s2k, but looks similar to any other car.

remove wheel, remove brake rotor (optional), remove brake splash guard from the inboard side, and hammer them out. use a brass hammer if you plan to ever re-use them.

insert the new ones from the inboard side and tap them in. check lug nut torque after a few miles in case they didn't fully seat. no need to use a press.

why would you need longer studs?

I've always been taught to thread on a beat up used lug nut on the end of the stud you want to punch out and then give the lug nut a big wack with a hammer. If you mess up on an open stud there is a possibility you wont be able to take it out later, with a lug nut on the stud you'll be fine. Just unthread the lug nut after you've "popped" it out and take the studs out.

They are called hubs, not axles. In order to remove these, the knuckle (hub carrier) has to be removed and the hubs pressed out.

Do the hubs have screws in them like on the ITR or are they floating?

Hold on! The S is a different animal compared to other Hondas. I had a stud that needed replacing and ended up at the dealer. There's no room for the stud to move back sufficiently to remove it - you HAVE to disassemble a significant portion of the wheel attachments (ball joints, etc.) to get enough room.

I found it much easier to have the dealer handle it...
