Default What is the correct part number for the Honda oil filter??

I haven't come up with anything conclusive using the search function.

I have read that Honda came out with a new oil filter for the S2000.

I read in a post that the recommended part number is 15400-PCX-004.

At the dealer parts counter last night, I received the following:
part number on invoice 15400-PLM-A02
part number on filter 15400-PLM-A01

What are the differences between the filters, and which one should I be using on my '02 S2000?

Thanks.

The correct filter for the S2k are 15400-PCX-004.
The 15400-PLM-A02 or A01 are for Civic and Accord. There way smaller in size compare to the filter for the S2K.

Thanks!

Yesterday, the guy at the parts counter told me there was no such thing as a 15400-PCX-004, and sold me the smaller one. And yes, it is small.......I have never seen such a small oil filter! Well....maybe on a lawnmower.......

Anyhow, I called back, and despite the fact the current parts counter guy had never heard of it, he said it is a viable part number and is ordering one in.

Go figure......I figured it would be easier to get from the dealer than ordering from HandA or someone...... Lesson learned.

Sounds like you need to find a new dealer

I actually phoned three different Honda Dealer Parts Departments. None were familiar with the 15400-PCX-004, but all were able to locate it on their computers. Apparently, these dealers all use the 15400-PLM-A02 for S2000s when they do oil changes. Another good reason to do the work myself.

I have stocked the PCX-004 since August of '03. Since then we have used 21 of them. It's hard to believe how ignorant some dealers are.

Many discussions on this one.....many dealers have been putting the PLM in our cars.

I had to specifically ask the parts guy to look up the PCX filter, and low and behold, there it was, much to his surprise.
