Default Important note: check the screen located in your VTEC solinoid...

Symptoms:
1. vtec disabled
2. A weird noise coming for the general area of the vtec solinoid...... kindda like a loose heat sheid rattling. It only occured after 2500 RPMS......

The fix.....

didn't think about it.... I think there are three holes on the solinoid the screen is on the bottom. It says in the helms manual taht the screen should be cleaned from time to time....

The "stuff" is sludge. Have you been changing you oil regularly?

Clogged VTEC screens are usually found on cars without frequent oil changes. I've cleaned plenty of them.

Yes sludge...
I change my oil every 3000 miles... not sure what happened... I am guilty of using a cheap oil filter... I am considering upgrading the filter because of this.....
maybe HAMP oil filters????

Between the VTEC solenoid/valve assembly and the cylinder head.
