Alpine9835 w/Sirius keep losing presetted channels
Guys and gals,
My friends just helped me intalled the Sirius adapter to my S. My Alpine HU is Satellite radio compatible, so it is just a plug and play exercise. The result is nothing short of awesome.
Just one small glitch though. Everytime I presetted channels, had the HU memorized them by pressing and holding the channel buttons. I will not be able to recall these channels when I started my S next time.
It is like everytime before I drive my S, I have to set up those channels again. How strange?
The memoried channels for my regular radio works just fine. I never lose those memorized channels.
Can anyone help?

Explain to me how you set it up...
I think you are either...confused, because Alpines do not work with sirius, they work with XM only. Do you have an external Sirius tuner that is just plugged into the alpine for sound?
GIve me a list of what you have exactly.

Hmmm...thats new.
Honestly, I dont know why its not working.
My guess is that the adapter isnt made by alpine, and isnt designed right. Sorry, im gonna bow out on this one.

to connect the SIR-ALP1 G-s2k added power and a ground tapped in from Thomas'-Alpine Nav system then he connected the Ai-net cable from Thomas CD Changer and then connected the Ai-net cable from his 9835 to the "output" of the SIR-ALP1
now that i am thinking about it - I wonder if the SIR-ALP1 needs a constant power source to keep the memory -
Thomas - does your head unit lose the memory when the key is removed or when the key is switched to aux?
This should be an easy fix

yup that's why - you need a constant 12v on the system and i think we tapped a keyed source
we can fix it this weekend

**UPDATE **
the unit was wired with a constant 12v however when we called crutchfiled they stated that that this is a "KNOWN PROBLEM"
The memory is lost when the car is started
they stated that we need to attach a wire from the ignition to the acc wire on the alpine head unit - the service notice was released today....
we need to add a rely and then connect a wire to the aux (or red wire) of the 9835
