S2000, NEED MORE POWER PLEASE!!

[COLOR=blue] Hey..ive owned a Z06, 2 mustang convertable 5.0 s.a 93 Rx -7 R1..a mustang lx 5.0 with mods...anyway i recently bought an S2000..2002 black on black with 15000 km..im kinda dissapointed with the power..id dont like the fact u have to wait for the HP..(vtec) my Rx was way faster..and the handling i found better...but dont get me wrong ..the car looks great.and is fun 2 drive ..ilike everything about it exept the lack of power when i want it..anyway..what can i do to make the car about a half second to a second faster..and adding about 30 t0 40 hp..without goin crazy..(supercharger,turbo) cause the s2000 isnt really that fast..sorry boys..but trust me.. i wish it was!!!and for those 1/4 mile racers..i jus lined up against a 350z convertable..both r tops down.. both stock..got me utta the hole 1/2 car..2 gear he had me 1/2 car end of 3rd dead even ..early fourth pulling away..end of quater..=S2000 buy ba fender! thats banggin every gear..launched at 4800

Launch it at 7 grand and get him buy a car or two .

The S has proved time and time again it will out handle a RX-7

Learn how to drive the S at its limits , then tell me it disappointing. You need to drive it like a bike keeping the revs up when driving aggressive.,under 6k is for the city .If you had a RX you shouldn't have a problem with rpm.

WTF!

the RX-7 had power on demand..the 2K dosent.unless your driving at 8000 all day..its either a dog under 6000 or a race car over 7000..no mid range power...but dont get me wrong i love the car no doubt..jus put the nsx motor in it and all would be fine ..!! or something similar..

you can't put an nsx motor in it as it spins the wrong way

for about 10 grand you could get a turbo and have the power you want - where in New England are you?

Sell the car. You'll never be happy w/ it.

If you just went out side and tried it in sub 30deg weather its not going to work.

You got to get some tire spin so when the car hooks up it is in vtec , if not your wasting time trying to get your rpm back up.

But all in all if you wanted a drag car you should of stayed in the Mustang, if you want a all out trill ride stay with the S .If you need some lessons drop me a line,they don't call me Twiztid for nothing

I have no idea why... not that it matters... he needs to learn how to drive the car or just sell it,... because it doesn't sound like he knows what its good for.

For reference.... the S2k with beat the tar out of those other cars stock for stock on the auto-x track were it belongs

Sounds like maybe you'll either be selling this car or you'll be installing a Supercharger very soon But before you do that you better learn how to bring this car to the edge first like Twisted said.

However if you do decide to keep it you should check out the 'Under the Hood' forum to learn more about the cars engine, to help you plan what you'll need to make that extra power you crave

like i said... i love the car!! but with all these high horse power cars commin out..its hard to compete speed wise..i have no complaints on the looks, the handling,..its the coolest car for the money...but all u pro honda guys ..face it..you need more torque and a bit more HP.a stock mustang gt will get yea light to light..lol..if the S ran mid 13s stock ..i would have nothing bad to say about it! i jus will have to drop some $$ to beat up the Ginos in thier camaros !.lol

i pushed my Rx 7 R1 to limits unreachable by the S2K..remember im talkin both stock..its not hard to tame the S2K..no white knuckles! but ill work on it...

Ok. WONDERBOY25 welcome to the New England Forum.

WONDERBOY 25, you need to realize that the S2000 is not a drag racing car. The car was never designed for top 1/4 mile times.

Yes a stock Mustang GT could beat an S2000 in the 1/4 mile. But take that 8 Cyl. boat anchor on an Auto-x course or Road Course, and the S2000 should have lower times.

My two cents... learn how to drive your car. Take a few driving lessons, learn to appreciate what you do have and what great engineering Honda has put into the S2000. Oh... and also... don't mod.

The pizza isn't too bad either

But... it can't hurt to try and educate someone early

yeah..how many times do i have to tell you guys GREAT CAR... AWESOME even ..look at the boxster s they jus bumped up the HP to 280..you gotta grow with the times.. look even honda realised they didnt have enough torque so the bumped it up a bit.but not enough..mark my words if they still make the S2k in a couple years ..they ll add more displacement.for more HP..

and why is it that you PRO DRIVERS...LMAO..if i have something bad to say about the S2K.. its because i dont know how to drive it..PLEEEAZZZE.i own 1 ..i cant make a comment?..
