MY01 vs Boxster
Last night i was hanging out over at a friends house, my buddy mentions that another one of our friends just picked up a Porsche. I didnt know what kind it was, well anyways... he pulls up and were outside talking and checking out each others rides. His was pretty nice, low mileage on it... only 32k on it, mine well Ive got 103k on mine already. After a bit he mentions running them "Sure" I say. So we hop on the "Racers Speedway", 311 which is a LOOOONG stretch of open highway in the country and rarely any traffic on it.
On the way to the selected spot he nails it around 65 mph out of nowhere, I drop down into 3rd and reel him back in with the quickness and blow by him. I wasnt sure if he was on it or not I came up on him so quick. So we get back on the highway after turning around on an overpass, i yell to him to go from a roll around 20mph. We merge back on the highway, were around 30 and I hear him nail it so I get on it, and again i pass him so quick that even my friend riding with me said "I dont think he was on it". So we line back up again and he guns it, I stomp it and jump out ahead by 1.5 - 2 car lengths quickly, so quick it was like he was standing still. At this point were back in the city and get side by side at a stop light, he yells out "Damn that thing is fast! Im impressed! Lets go from a dig, I think I can get you off the line but from a roll your car is definitely more powerful." So the light is about to turn green, I take the rpms up to 6k and do a rolling clutch drop (first time Ive done a drop with the rpms that high, and WOW!) I immediately got about 1 - 1.5 cars by the time I got mid 2nd gear or so. My friend riding with me hand his hand over his mouth by this time because I was spanking my friends car worse than both of us expected. My friend in the Boxster didnt know really anything about the s2k other than it looks good, he knows a whole lot now. I told him to get a Boxster S next and see what happens then.

no, he was tryin. Hes only had it a couple weeks, but he drove it from Texas to NC so hes had time in it, so maybe theres some margin there. But from a roll I dont think its gonna matter THAT much, from a dig yea. Im not 100% stock, but i dont think the mods I got gonna make a world of difference.

How come anytime someone posts a race that isn't a 100% kill, like I raced a 16 second civic and beat his ass ... everyone immediately says bad driver or he wasn't trying?
Congrats on the kill man. You *should* be beating Boxsters.
The Porsche Boxster (previous generation) runs a 0-60 in 6 seconds, and 14.6 second 1/4 mile @ 96mph (Reference: R&T May 2003). The Honda S2000 (AP1) runs a 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, and 13.8 second 1/4 mile @ 100mph (Reference: MT February 2000). These are magazine times and street times are going to vary based on a million different things from driver skill to weather and elevation, but it gives you an idea of how the two cars stack up. The S2000 is a faster car than the regular Porsche Boxster.
What makes you think that the Boxster should keep up with the S2000 in this case?
The Porsche Boxster S is a different story. The S2000 and Boxster S are pretty much even from a dig with the nod to the Boxster S in terms of ease of driveability for the launch and probably an advantage at certain speeds from a roll.
I think there are too many people hanging out in Street Encounters waiting to call BS on too many races.

Yea, he was on it everytime no doubt... thats all i know. He was shocked when i passed him the first time @ 80 -90. Then gave me props and said he was shocked after it was all over with. I did the same. i do have 2 mods on m ycar but theyre not going to make a big dramatic difference, a drop in K&N filter and a test pipe. He has 1/3 of the mileage on the car that i got on mine, i thought that would have made things closer, but I keep up with my baby pretty well.
Not only that, but why would a person in a Porsche LET me win???? The last time on the highway, i let him get on it first so I could be sure he was on it.

good kill
u should be able to beat boxsters
on the other hand, u can't keep up with boxster S unless u have FI
even w/ a pretty good NA set up, it will be hard to keep up w/ boxster S

Not at all.
I've played with a non S Boxster, and really p!ssed him off.
There was no way he was staying close.
He had the run on me when I was around 7k in 3rd, and I still pulled on him.
