Melbourne Night Cruise, Saturday 14 January 2006

At our Saturday Brunch (see other thread) we decided to hold a night cruise for our Melbourne members on Saturday 14 January 2006. Departing 8.00PM from Albert Park, Neish will lead us up to Mt Macedon via some back roads and thence to the Macedon Hotel. If the Macedon pub doesn’t appeal (and/or is shut) there are plenty of places where we could stop in nearby Woodend.

We can then have (or something to eat) before heading back – probably down the Calder Freeway. Keeping the group together in the dark would be easier on the Freeway. However, some folks from the Northern or Eastern suburbs might choose to return via Romsey, Wallan & Whittlesea if they have confidence in their night-time navigation skills

The reason for the 8.00PM departure is that it would give us enough time to make it to the destination in daylight (Sunset on 14/01/06 is at 8.45PM but it may not be fully until 9.15pm). It was felt that it would be easier to keep the group together on the back roads in daylight. We could then have a yarn in the pub while it changed from twilight to complete dark.

After the return journey to Melbourne the old & married folks can head for home whilst the young & adventurous can follow HotChoc to a place where the lowies are plentiful.

This will be an excellent opportunity for the Melbourne people to come together and meet new faces/cars!

It would be great if you know anyone who has a S2000 whos not on this forum to drag them along to this event.
