I now have a grand total of 25 miles on her. First, here's what we said goodbye to: I'll miss that car. Virginija and I bought it brand new in '93, and it's been very good to us. It was purchased by a service writer at the dealership where I do all my Honda business. I know she'll be in good hands. Here's the new ride waiting for me: Driving off the lot (I already took her for a quick spin before this shot. When I climbed in, she had 4 miles on her. She's a real beauty: I'm getting some dinner right now (gotta do it by myself - Anika and Virginija are at a WIGGLES concert! ), and I'll head out to drive off that break-in period! Fun, fun! So far so good. I've only had time for about 60 miles of driving, but I like it so far. With a 6500 redline, keeping her under 4K during break-in is difficult. First gear goes by way too fast when you need to shift at 4K. But the shifter is as smooth as only a Honda could be. The 16" alloys were a great upgrade. They come with Bridgestone RE750s - a close cousin of the current S2000 tires. They still need breaking in, but steering with them is very crisp and precise. It actually does remind me of the S (at least compared with my old Civic).

I was thinking of taking the Fit to Chicago this weekend, but decided to let her wait until I can get a good coat of wax on her and the wheels. We'll take the Accord instead.

A better review will have to wait until we get home and I get some more miles on her. Somewhere over the winter, I'll join Sam in a run down his favorite Rt. 164, both in our Fits. Should be fun - by then I'll have formed a proper opinion.

I still can't believe she's mine! This is actually the first brand new daily driver I've ever had - I've always bought used cars before. Very exciting! (It doesn't hurt that I don't have to worry about getting my feet wet inside the car if it rains.....)

Night all. We need to get packed for the trip tomorrow........

They are rated as Ultra High Performance Summer tires, and are the recommended tire with the 16" rim upgrade. I already have a set of Dunlop Winter Sport M3s on 14" rims for the winter. It won't be long before I have to put them on. I just hope it's not before I finish break-in... JonasM
